    Your Kratom Learning Path

New to kratom? We've organized our content so you can learn at your own pace, starting with the fundamentals.

    Three things worth knowing first

Most of what is written about kratom online is written to sell it. Before the learning path below, three points shape almost everything else on this site.

Canada’s position is two separate facts, routinely conflated

Kratom is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and it is also not authorised by Health Canada for human consumption. Both are true at once. “Not illegal” and “approved” are not the same thing, and vendor copy frequently blurs them. Our Canadian legality guide separates the two.

Strain names are branding, not specification

When researchers put six commercially sold kratom products through lab analysis, they found no significant difference in alkaloid content between them, even though users reported distinct effects. Vein colours and place names like Maeng Da or Bali are marketing conventions rather than measured categories. See what the research actually found.

You will not find dosing guidance here

We do not publish doses. There is no established safe dose for a product that is not authorised for consumption, and we are not qualified to set one. If a site gives you a confident number in grams, ask what that number is based on. What we do cover is what vendors disclose, what they charge, and whether anyone has tested what they sell.
